Kate Regan is a Professor of Spanish at the University of Portland, Oregon.

She has received national, regional and local awards for excellence in teaching, including the University of Portland award followed by the prestigious U.S. Professor of the Year for master’s and Comprehensive Universities award given to her in 2000 by the Carnegie and CASE Foundation.

Additionally, Regan conducts extensive research in a number of different areas including Sephardic culture of Medieval Spain, Gender and cross-dressing in the Spanish Comedia, Women Writers of the Spanish Golden Age, Spanish for Business Purposes, and Spanish Cinema.

In the last couple of years, Regan has extended her research to include digital film technology and documentary filmmaking. She has completed two documentary films related to Spain and the legacy of Sephardic culture. She has given presentations and published on Filmmaking in humanities scholarship and video technology in foreign language curriculums.

Fiestaremos! is Regan’s second motion picture and follows the release of The Sephardic Legacy of Segovia, Spain: Pentimento of the Past in 2006.
